Gallery Article 15, established in 2022, specializes in contemporary Congolese art by emerging, mid-career and established artists.  Gallery Article 15 works directly with Congolese artists in a collaborative process.  In addition to ongoing exhibitions and a vast inventory of original works, Gallery Article 15 supports young artists in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) though the Gallery Article 15 Young Artists Collective (A15 Collective).   

Gallery Article 15 derives its name from the well-known idiom in the Democratic Republic of Congo, “Article quinze…débrouillez-vous.”  Referencing a fictional Article 15 of the DRC’s constitution, it is a catch-all expression meaning “you’re on your own, do what you need to do.”  The phrase can often be found in the DRC’s rich music and art scenes.
